Market Ops and Margin Tech Production Management Head - Director
Team/Function Overview:

The Global Head of Market Operations Tech (MOT) production management will oversee a large group of employees and contractors worldwide. This role is crucial for organizational simplification and collaboration with technology, business, and operations leaders to support Markets business goals. The position reports directly to the Managing Director of Markets Production Management.

Role / Position Overview:

We seek a motivated leader to oversee an evolving Operations technology platform supporting a growing markets business. The leader will manage application support engineers responsible for enhancing the safety and robustness of Markets back-office systems, including Cash products, OTC Derivatives, FX Settlement, and Margin. Collaboration with business and product managers is essential to deliver a world-class Production Support team.

The Apps Support Sr Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers. A deep understanding of how their sub-function contributes to broader objectives, industry knowledge, and strategic alignment is required. Excellent communication skills are necessary for internal negotiations and external interactions. The role includes executing and implementing functional strategy, managing budgets, planning, policy formulation, and contributing to future strategies. Responsibilities also encompass managing people, budgets, performance evaluations, hiring, disciplinary actions, and possibly cross-disciplinary activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of Market Operations production platforms including Cash, Derivatives, Margin, and others.
  • Lead the transition from traditional technology operations to an engineering culture.
  • Contribute to system architecture design and work with end-users to enhance existing systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including offshore managed services.
  • Improve service levels, operational efficiencies, incident and problem management, and knowledge sharing.
  • Establish a culture of Cyber Security awareness and ownership across Markets Ops tech.
  • Lead development teams on application stability and supportability improvements.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to enhance reliability and availability.
  • Implement frameworks for capacity, throughput, and latency management.
  • Define onboarding standards for applications.
  • Coach team members to maximize potential and foster a collaborative environment.
