Derby Market Hall is a £35m transformation project to restore one the city’s finest architectural assets and bring Derby’s fine market tradition back to the city, creating a destination that will incubate businesses, generate footfall and create an exceptional customer experience in the heart of the city centre. The Venue will bring together creativity, community, and locality to showcase the best of Derby and Derbyshire in one spectacular location.

The Market Hall Venue Manager role will be the driving force of this project, and the Markets Service. The successful candidate will programme great activity, manage and develop relationships across the venue and city, and connect Derby’s great communities and partners to help them to collaborate, grow and thrive.

If you can demonstrate exceptional relationship sklills, evidence a history of connecting and developing creatives, and continually lead and champion an offer that evolves and improves, the Market Hall Venue Manager is the role for you. Derby is changing, and the Market Hall Venue Manager will be a key role in creating dwell space, exciting activity and experience.

The Opportunity

- Leading a team that provides an excellent customer experience to visitors of the venue
- Developing a varied programme of cultural and market activity to attract, inspire and enthral audiences
- Supporting traders to flourish, growing successful businesses and building communities
- Advocating and promoting the offer to ensure the venue is visible and a clear asset as part of the city’s regeneration
- Actively looking at programmes that support diversity, inclusion and education
- Driving continual improvement and commercial development
- Liaising and reporting with stakeholders to ensure sound governance and understanding of the venue.
- Working flexibly, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays where required
