We are seeking a Market Data Vendor Manager to join us in Edinburgh, reporting to the Head of Market Data Management. This role requires a solid understanding of the market data and information services industry and their application in asset management. It is central to our team’s operations, overseeing the workflow pipeline and serving as the main contact for users across our global offices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Procurement and renewal of market data services in a cost-effective manner, developing sourcing strategies and category plans.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities, negotiating with data vendors for favorable terms, and ensuring accurate recording of data usage and pricing.
  • Maintaining an audit trail for all contracts and agreements, ensuring all terms are accurately documented in the Contract Management System.
  • Assisting the Finance Team with invoicing issues as needed.
  • Managing relationships with data providers, ensuring service quality and contractual compliance.
  • Conducting vendor service reviews using a clear scorecard methodology.
  • Monitoring system usage to maximize value and inform renewal discussions and service reviews.
  • Acting as the primary contact for services provided by vendors within their scope.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand and meet market data needs.
  • Managing demand and fulfilling data requests.
  • Proposing initiatives to enhance AAM's Investment Toolkit.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements in data acquisition and usage.
  • Staying updated on regulatory changes and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Working with Compliance and Legal teams to address regulatory concerns and support audits.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience as a Market Data Vendor Manager or similar role.
  • Strong procurement, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
  • Experience with market data related to investments and index data.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of legal and commercial aspects of vendor licenses.
  • Understanding of financial instruments and international exchanges.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
