Job Description:

Our client, a global, multi-billion dollar AUM, multi-strategy hedge fund, is looking to make a newly created 'Market Data Specialist' hire to sit within their global Data team.

Working as part of a lean team of leading professionals within the buy-side data space, you will report directly to the Global Head of Data. You will collaborate with different functions globally to ensure that internal data infrastructure, data contract frameworks, and relationships with external stakeholders (such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv) are managed and optimized efficiently.

The core responsibilities include managing both commercial and hands-on data and vendor management tasks. The role involves working with and managing market data vendors, overseeing all relevant contracts (licensing, renewals, usage analysis), and onboarding new partners. Additionally, the role plays a key part in major projects to improve internal data usage, spend management, procurement lifecycle, and integration of new tools for the team.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a significant impact across the firm. Candidates should ideally have 2-5 years of experience as an MDM / Market Data Analyst / Vendor Management Analyst at a buy-side firm, bank, or major data vendor, though exceptional juniors may also be considered. Candidates must be willing to work in a lean team and take a hands-on approach. A strong academic background is also required.
