Market Category Specialist, Indirects – Europe

Location: London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Dublin

6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Join our Procurement Team at Diageo, a global leader with iconic brands like Baileys, Guinness, Smirnoff, and Johnnie Walker. We source, produce, and deliver 6.5 billion litres annually across 180 markets. Our procurement efforts contribute significantly to our business growth, focusing on sustainable value, quality, and building strong relationships internally and externally.

About the team:

Our Europe Procurement team manages a spend of approximately $400m across categories like Real Estate & Facilities Management, HR Services, Professional Services, and Route-To-Consumer. The role focuses on leading the HR Services category, including fleet, recruitment, temporary labor, learning & development, domestic mobility, and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver financial and non-financial targets.
  2. Implement Europe/Global category strategies.
  3. Ensure excellence in sourcing, demand management, and supplier relationships.
  4. Establish and monitor supplier performance through KPIs and SLAs.
  5. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  6. Maintain high standards of compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Degree or relevant work experience.
  2. Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  3. Experience in procurement or business negotiations, forecasting, benchmarking.
  4. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  5. Ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and act beneficially.
  6. Understanding of cost drivers and value end-to-end.
  7. Independent problem-solving skills.
  8. Commercial awareness and sound judgment.
  9. Adaptability to fast-paced environments.
  10. Excellent communication and influencing skills.
