Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Market Analyst to work closely with and support the Sales Team by collecting, organising, and interpreting internal and external data to inform revenue, occupancy, and pricing strategies across the national portfolio. Providing trend analysis, benchmarking, and early-stage insights and recommendations that will support commercial decision-making and lettings performance reviews.

Key role responsibilities include:

  • Collate and maintain core commercial data sets- Gather regular data from universities, operational teams, letting systems, and site reports as required to build a consistent, accurate view of national performance
  • Support market benchmarking and competitor tracking - Monitor pricing, product and promotional activity across competing PBSA and PRS stock, producing regular snapshots and comparisons by region
  • Assist with lettings and demand analysis - Track demand profiles across the academic year, identify emerging booking patterns, and flag outliers or risks for deeper investigation
  • Prepare visual dashboards and reporting outputs- With the support of UPP’s Data and ICT teams, build clear, visually engaging reports and charts that summarise trends in occupancy, rents, conversion rates, or marketing performance
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests- Provide rapid-turnaround analysis and summaries to support national strategy reviews, investment cases, or pricing decisions
  • Contribute to the annual rent review process- Assist in compiling internal data and competitor research to inform rent-setting proposals and evidence-based discussions with university partners

This role is based at our award-winning offices in London near Cannon Street and London Bridge stations, and we have a generous Hybrid Working Policy which enables our teams to combine attending the office 2/3 days per week (more when required) with remote working.

We are looking for you to have experience in working with data and are comfortable handling large data sets in Excel or other data management tools and have the ability to interpret the data, provide recommendations and communicate findings in a clear and structured way.

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced proficiency is Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, lookups), good presentation design skills and a high level of organisation with the ability to manage regular reporting cycles.

Alongside this you will be motivated by insights, impact and continuous improvement with a willingness to learn and engage in commercial conversations.

Exposure to property, student housing, or higher education marketswould also be an advantage to this role.
