Job summary

Maritime Transport is seeking a Traffic Operator at our Wakefield depot. You will manage driver co-ordination, booking slots, and communicate with ports to keep traffic flowing smoothly.

The ideal candidate has previous Traffic Operator experience, strong communication, and excellent UK geography knowledge. You will work independently, solve problems quickly, and adapt to the demands of a busy logistics operation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Traffic Operator is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of UK geography and routes.
• Ability to work on own initiative and solve problems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Dealing with multiple drivers.
• Communicating with ports and customers.
• Booking delivery slots for entry in ports.
• Using TOPS transport system to log start and finish times for drivers.
• Chasing drivers for ETAs and ensuring on-time arrivals.
• Rerouting jobs as needed to meet schedules.
• Checking PODs match with jobs on the system.
• Providing customers with timely delay information and ETAs.
