Robson Forensic, a longstanding forensic expert firm with an excellent reputation in the legal and scientific community, is looking for a Master Mariner like you. We conduct investigations and provide professional reports and testimony to help resolve disputes and litigation.

Our Maritime Team has investigated more than 500 cases as technical experts in both the commercial maritime industry as well as the recreational boating community. Our experts use their accumulated maritime skills from their professional and recreational boating trainings and experiences to investigate marine incidents to determine incident causes and timelines. It is extremely challenging work, but also an intellectually thrilling and rewarding experience.

LOCATION:

FL, GA, PA, TX

DESCRIPTION:

Areas of potential investigative work involve commercial vessel and recreational boat operations related to cargo and insurers, marine facilities, shipyards, marinas, charter operations, passenger vessel operations, vessel design and manufacture, rules and codes compliance (both international and ), security, safety, and licensure. Casualties and incidents investigated may include collisions, allisions, fires, explosions, implosions, personal injuries, industrial accidents, product failure, pollution, and waterways management.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Bridge Resource Management (BRM), Safety Management Systems (SMS), International Safety Management (ISM) system codes, small boats, fast rescue boats, lifeboats, tenders, workboats, COLREGS (International and Inland), safety training, workplace safety, mooring and anchoring operations, and cargo handling.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You are Master Mariner credentialed.
  • You are ECDIS certified.
  • You are Radar navigator certified.
  • You have 3+ years of experience as Captain.
  • You have USCG port state control/inspection experience.
  • You are well versed in SOLAS requirements.
  • You can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • You have excellent technical and analytical skills.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are willing to travel about 20% on average.

Candidates must pass a drug, background, and reference check.
