Job summary

L3Harris Portchester, UK is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to design, develop and sustain maritime software in a hybrid environment. The role involves C++ and Ruby, autonomy and collision avoidance systems, and collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.

The successful candidate will work within an Agile team, contribute to software architecture, and support IRAD initiatives and customer-funded projects. Prior Linux/RHEL 8 experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional experience in C++ software development.
• Experience with Ruby development or willingness to develop Ruby expertise.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications using C++ and Ruby.
• Support Collision Avoidance, autonomy and other maritime software development activities.
• Contribute to software architecture, implementation, integration, testing and sustainment activities.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, UX designers, QA engineers and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in Agile software development processes, including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
