Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Portchester, UK is seeking a skilled C++ Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain maritime software solutions, with exposure to Ruby and Qt-based interfaces. You will contribute to autonomy, collision avoidance and other mission-critical systems across the software lifecycle in a collaborative Agile environment.

You will work with systems engineers, QA and product stakeholders, use JIRA for tracking, and help deliver software across vessels and offshore assets,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven professional C++ development experience.
• Experience with Ruby or willingness to learn Ruby.
• Experience working in Agile teams and familiarity with JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software using C++ and Ruby.
• Support Collision Avoidance, autonomy and maritime software development.
• Contribute to software architecture, integration, testing and sustainment.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, UX designers, QA engineers and product stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile software processes and use JIRA to track progress.
