Job Description:

The MMCM IVVQ Team is responsible for the Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification (IVVQ) of the MMCM Primary System, including trials and formal acceptance with the Customer.

We are a team of multi-disciplined engineers undertaking tasks from Design proving, Integration, and Test to Factory, Harbour, and Sea Acceptance Tests/Trials, leading to successful acceptance and delivery to the customer.

You will be a member of the in-house MMCM primary System IVVQ team, responsible for activities in Design Proving and Factory Acceptance. You will maintain close relationships with MMCM Sub-system suppliers and participate in meetings and test events with the Customer and End User communities. Activities include integration and testing at the MMCM System Integration Facilities (SIF) in Plymouth, UK, with occasional travel to Brest, France, and UK trial sites.

Typically, you will work during normal daytime hours, but activities at the SIFs may require shift work (e.g., 6am-2pm / 1pm-9pm), with occasional night shifts or weekends to optimize equipment utilization.

For this role, MUST be able to achieve security clearance of SC.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

You will be part of the Thales MMCM IVVQ Team working on the integration, test, and acceptance of an innovative autonomous Mine Warfare Countermeasure System for the UK and France. This involves lab-based integration and testing, as well as live seat trials.

You will be responsible for:

  • Installing and testing software and simulators on the lab-based SRP at Turnchapel.
  • Integrating and testing sea-going assets in the shore-based Operating Centre, learning operator positions to conduct live sea trials/missions.
  • Generating and executing test procedures and producing test reports.
  • Raising and investigating problem reports during lab tests and sea trials.
  • Supporting Customer demonstrations, acceptance events, and training.
  • Assisting the Turnchapel data manager with trials data collation and processing.
  • Gathering qualification and acceptance evidence against system requirements.
  • Producing technical notes and analysis documents.
Skills:
  • Experience with system of systems integration and testing.
  • Knowledge of IVVQ or similar test and acceptance processes.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools like DOORS.
  • Ability to install and configure hardware/software OS.
  • Working knowledge of IP networks, Linux/Unix.
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and investigative approach.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently or under supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for technical documentation.
  • Experience in generating test documentation and conducting trials.
  • Knowledge of system engineering lifecycle, SONAR, Mine Warfare/Countermeasures, Autonomous systems, Software engineering, virtual environments (e.g., TACTICOS), RF and acoustic communications, maritime systems.
