Job summary

BP plc is seeking a Marine Advisor, Trading Support, to join its Marine Trading Support team. The role provides specialist marine and technical advice to LNG trading, origination and operations, spanning contract reviews to cargo delivery.)

The ideal candidate possesses Masters/Chief Mate or Chief Engineer licenses and extensive LNG shipping experience, capable of supporting ship-to-shore interfaces, port assessments and strategic marine decisions in a dynamic global trading environment.

Qualifications

• Master/Chief Mate or Chief Engineer licences required or equivalent
• Extensive LNG shipping and/or terminal operations experience
• Strong maritime regulatory and safety knowledge
• Experience in commercial negotiations and risk analysis

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational support to LNG trading teams, including ship-to-shore compatibility assessments
• Advise on LNG cargo transfers, terminal operations and related issues
• Review marine clauses during commercial negotiations and provide marine input
• Assess terminal facilities and marine service providers for safety and operational standards
• Support ship-to-ship transfers, tugs, pilotage and voyage optimization
• Contribute marine expertise to LNG/LPG projects from concept to start-up
• Assist in incident investigations and emergency response activities
• Participate in government and industry forums to share knowledge and improve practices
