We are looking for a Technical Service Manager with experience within the marine industry. Our client works on I.T solutions and Satcom communication services for the marine industry.

Role Responsibilities – Marine Service Manager

  • Reporting into the UK Senior Technical Services Manager, this role will take ownership of support cases across Commercial Satellite Communication Services (CSCS) and collaborate with the MOD System Engineering and MOD Project teams.
  • Manage support cases to ensure effective resolution and support the relevant teams involved.
  • Coordinate with internal resolver groups as needed.
  • Provide internal briefings to senior management on case status and plans.
  • Ensure logistical and technical aspects of engineer visits are efficiently managed, including equipment use and return.
  • Handle commercial arrangements related to support visits, including invoicing and liaising with MoD customers.
  • Work with the Senior Technical Service Manager and Field Service Engineering Team to provide feedback for documentation updates.
  • Represent NSSLGlobal professionally to Government customers, demonstrating technical expertise, especially in complex support issues with MoD Authorities.
  • Create support documentation to improve processes.
  • Track support trends and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure case details are accurately captured on Secure Insight.
  • Manage minor projects related to support or obsolescence programs as assigned.
  • Manage the MOD Escalation Process, ensuring detailed documentation.
  • Provide training to support staff and assist with onboarding new engineers.
  • Support the launch of new UK Government services, including documentation.
  • Prepare handover notes for team members during absences.
  • Take a proactive approach to achieve success.
  • Manage CSCS4 spares holdings and assist procurement as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Senior Technical Service Manager.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must hold or be able to achieve DV Security Clearance.
  • Experience with Royal Navy technical communications across COMSAT, MILSAT, MNE, and Message handling.
  • Strong desire to develop technical proficiency in support roles.
  • Understanding of MOD networks across land and sea.
  • Technical experience with electrical/electronic, IT networking equipment, and satellite communication.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive, flexible approach.
