Job description

Carmichael UK are seeking a Senior Engineer / Sub Agent with marine experience to join the Hinkley Point C Marine works.

It would be expected to work on site office providing support to the Marine project manager and engineering back up to the Marine agents deployed in the vessels.

Location: Bristol Avonmouth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily programme updates, coordination meetings and daily briefings on site.
  • Coordinating marine activities to meet technical and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate different supporting services to provide a safe work system. Coordinating with H&S, Environmental, lifting, Quality
  • Supporting offshore HSE practices through daily briefings, safety tours, and permit management
  • Tracked site performance, maintained work plans, reported progress, processed information from the vessels, produced progress reports, programme updates, and closed actions.
  • Acting as a key offshore interface with a marine team deployed on the vessel, support teams, subcontractors and clients.
  • Supporting risk and issue management to maintain safe and effective delivery

To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  • Ideally, experience in offshore or marine civil engineering or related fields
  • Strong understanding of safe systems of work in offshore environments
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver results independently
  • Practical communication skills and a collaborative team approach
  • Previous experience managing subcontractor is desired.
