Based in Gravesend, the Port of London Authority seeks a qualified marine safety professional to support the Harbour Masters team. You will help develop and maintain the safety management system and risk assessment processes, while overseeing regulatory compliance and the dissemination of PLA publications.

You will manage the Marine Safety Management System and risk database, ensuring rigorous risk assessments and high-quality reporting, and you will lead the auditing function to ensure

Qualifications

• STCW (OOW Unlimited) certificate or equivalent required.
• Experience in marine safety management and risk assessment.
• Ability to lead, motivate and manage effectively.
• Strong writing skills, including technical reporting.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of an effective safety management system, risk assessment processes, compliance assurance and supporting regulatory framework and enforcement regime, whilst providing statistical analysis and reports on a routine and as-required basis.
• Manage day-to-day operation of the Marine Safety Management System (MSMS) and navigational risk management database, ensuring thorough risk assessments are conducted and reviewed to a high standard and on schedule.
• Lead the auditing function of the Marine Safety Management System, tracking findings and actions through to completion at all levels of PLA Management.
• Publish and distribute electronic and hard copy notices, regulations and other PLA marine publications and documents, coordinating with printers and contractors.
