About The Role

Marine Rescue Unit Crew Member (Development)

Location: Pier Head, Liverpool

Our Marine Rescue Unit operates on the River Mersey, responding to various incidents along its length. The team performs rescue operations, environmental protection from hazardous materials, and supports the safety of crafts on the river.

We are seeking to recruit a Crew Member to join our team and contribute to this vital work. As this is a development role, no prior experience is required. If you are confident in water, highly resilient in challenging circumstances, and enjoy teamwork, this could be the opportunity for you!

Salary

Starting at £27,450 per annum plus allowances, rising to £33,116 once fully trained and competent.

Hours

42 hours per week, including approximately 182.5 duty periods annually, each consisting of a 12-hour day shift and a 12-hour night sleeping-in period.

Selection Process
  1. Stage One: Fitness test and role-related simulated aptitude tests in water. Candidates must be available all day on Monday, 16 June 2025.
