GE Vernova’s Power Conversion business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime, and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives, and control technologies.

Job Description

As related to customer equipment, facilities, or infrastructure projects: responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project-related activities and resources. Impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning and execution. The role has some autonomy but focuses on executing activities within standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required, typically with guidance.

Role Purpose:

This is a key customer-facing Project Management role for the Marine business unit within GE Power Conversion UK Ltd.

It offers an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager, though consideration will also be given to less experienced applicants with a strong desire to develop into the role.

The candidate must have the ability to form effective working relationships with Customers, team members, and third-party suppliers to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will perform the following duties:

  • Manage one or more projects for the Marine business unit, ensuring contractual obligations are met on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Customer on each project, building strong relationships to achieve high customer satisfaction and foster repeat business.
  • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary project team to deliver objectives efficiently.
  • Interface with GE units and external suppliers as needed.
  • Manage technical, commercial, and quality issues on the project.
  • Create, maintain, and track progress against a project plan.
  • Ensure timely and accurate customer billing and cash collection.
  • Ensure compliance with GE processes and procedures.
  • Handle extensions of time, contract extras, and claims as appropriate.
  • Conduct project reviews to control progress, manage costs, identify deviations, and forecast performance.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum HNC in a relevant subject or equivalent.

Experience in Project Management, Commercial, or Quantity Surveying roles.

Experience interfacing with external customers and being commercially astute.

Good understanding of project finances, including billing, costs, and internal trading, with the ability to critique projects financially.

Miscellaneous:
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ability to achieve Security Clearance at least to ‘Basic’ level.
