Cityscape Recruitment LTD. is recruiting a Project Manager to lead marine civil engineering projects across the UK.

You will manage delivery from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring safety, on‑time programming and budget adherence while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships. Role requires a Civil Engineering degree and at least five years’ experience in UK marine projects, NEC contract administration, and a valid UK driving licence.

About the opportunity

As a Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of marine civil engineering projects from pre‑construction through to completion. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards whilst maintaining excellent relationships with clients, stakeholders and the wider project team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced marine professional looking to join an established contractor with a secure pipeline of work across ports, harbours, coastal and riverside infrastructure.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage multiple marine civil engineering projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Lead project teams, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.
• Produce and manage project programmes, budgets and resource plans.
• Liaise closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with all HSE legislation, environmental requirements and company procedures.
• Manage NEC and other standard forms of contract where applicable.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Oversee procurement of subcontractors, plant and materials.
• Monitor project performance, reporting on progress, commercial position and programme.
• Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management.
• Ensure quality assurance processes are maintained throughout project delivery.
• Support business development by identifying future opportunities with existing clients.

About the requirements

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline and will hold a minimum of five years' experience delivering civil engineering projects within the UK marine environment.

As a Project Manager, you must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing marine infrastructure schemes, including projects such as quays, jetties, coastal defence works, river engineering, marine piling, harbour infrastructure and marine refurbishment works.

A strong technical understanding of UK marine construction methodologies, industry regulations and best practice is essential, together with experience of administering NEC contracts and managing the commercial and operational aspects of project delivery.

A full UK driving licence is essential as you will need to travel to projects and you must reside within a reasonable distance from the office near Rochester, Kent.

You must be able to demonstrate a stable employment history, reflecting a commitment to long‑term career development and successful project delivery within recognised civil engineering or marine contracting organisations.

About the benefits and rewards

For this permanent opportunity, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however, successful professionals could expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £70,000 - £75,000.

In addition to this, a benefits package will be available which includes a company van or car allowance (£5,000), 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enrolment on to the company pension scheme.

Lastly, this role is offering an element of hybrid working (1 day working from home).
