About the role
Osprey believes that innovative, precision-engineering logistics, by land and by water, can transform the way critical UK infrastructure is built. We bring together the very best multi-disciplinary engineering and delivery team to accelerate projects, enhance safety, and work side by side with clients to solve the most complex construction challenges.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of complex heavy lift, transportation, and marine operations within a major project environment. Working closely with the Project Manager, Marine Operations team, and engineering specialists, you will be responsible for coordinating technical activities, developing engineering solutions, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of heavy transport and lifting campaigns. The role involves producing and reviewing engineering deliverables, method statements, lift and transport analyses, and operational plans to ensure compliance with project, client, and industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to expand their expertise in marine project engineering while contributing to high-value, technically challenging offshore and onshore heavy lift and transportation projects.

- Produce and review engineering calculations, lift plans, transport analyses, rigging studies, method statements, drawings, procedures, risk assessments, and technical documentation to support project execution.
- Ensure marine operations are planned and executed safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements, client expectations, and industry standards, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Conduct vessel, port, and site visits to assess project requirements, gather operational data, and develop engineering solutions for complex lifting and transportation challenges.
- Act as a key technical interface between clients, project teams, subcontractors, and offshore/onshore operations personnel, providing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain high standards of document quality, configuration control, and technical governance, ensuring all engineering deliverables are accurately managed, reviewed, and issued in accordance with project procedures and industry best practice.

- Strong understanding of heavy lifting and transport methodologies, including rigging systems, SPMTs, ballasting operations, sea fastening, load-outs, and transportation engineering.
- Experience supporting or leading lifting operations involving crawler cranes, mobile cranes, gantry systems, strand jacks, jack-up vessels, heavy lift vessels, or other specialised marine assets.
- Sound knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, including offshore, marine, lifting, and transportation engineering requirements.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and engineering analysis software; experience with Mathcad, OrcaFlex, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS, or similar engineering tools would be advantageous.
