Our consultancy client is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

Candidates must be able to attain security clearance - SC, with a minimum of 5 years of permanent residency within the UK.

Role Purpose

The Senior Engineer - Mechanical Designer will lead the delivery of mechanical design solutions within the Design Team, managing complex tasks and ensuring high-integrity engineering. They will explore and test problems thoroughly, guide others in hardware solutions, and lead reviews and testing to ensure customer satisfaction.

Experience & Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree in relevant engineering fields or equivalent experience
• Experience designing technical hardware solutions, especially in regulated industries requiring precision and domain knowledge
• Experience creating technical drawings from 3D Models, working with stakeholders
• Experience generating and critiquing concepts and solutions
• Understanding of budgets, group dynamics, and project delivery
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, materials, stress analysis, mechanisms, electrical systems
• Formal training in HAZID, Design for Safety, and regulations such as CA Marking
• Manufacturing environment exposure with various methods

Desirable Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Product Design
• CEng Level membership and ongoing CPD
