Pertemps Isle of Wight is recruiting a Marine Mechanic / Marine Engineer for a leading marine engineering business in East Cowes. The role is a temporary contract with potential for permanency, offering 37.5 hours per week and pay of £15-£17 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Marine Mechanic or Marine Engineer or similar hands-on mechanical role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience maintaining diesel engines and marine/mechanical systems.
• Hands-on, practical approach with ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and engineering faults on marine equipment and vessels.
• Service, repair and perform preventative maintenance.
• Install, remove and overhaul marine engines and related systems.
• Work on propulsion, steering, fuel, hydraulics and cooling systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to high quality standards.
• Collaborate with a professional engineering team.
