Marine Maintenance & Offshore Operations Manager - London

Purpose of the Job:

To manage the marine maintenance activities and services provided, supporting the Atlantic and Pacific regions. The role encompasses the management of all customer relationship, commercial, technical, operational, quality and financial aspects of the services, supported by relevant teams, in addition to provide ship management services for the operation of cable ships for marine maintenance activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Overall responsibility for management of the region activity and contracts
  2. Manage the repairs required for the service, co-ordinating between the customer and the support services within the company to achieve timely repairs and satisfied customers
  3. Business and customer liaison, including reporting (weekly & other) on all aspects of the marine maintenance
  4. Cost control and reporting
  5. Overall planning and organising of the vessels’ movements, repairs, depots and customer spares, maintenance support services.
  6. Invoicing to customers (with Finance)
  7. Providing support to Marine Maintenance Services commercial team
  8. Representation in industry forums as required
  9. Point of contact of information from/to the cable ship
  10. Ensuring timely delivery of the necessary documents for the various phases of operations (loading, installation, PLIB, repair)
  11. Initiating operational procedures (MOP) for ongoing and future repair operations
  12. Managing the risk assessments related to maritime activities and operations.
  13. Initiating and ensuring the issue of administrative authorizations or "operational permits"
  14. Ensuring that the vessel is "adapted to the needs of the project" (stock of consumables for operations, fuel, specific equipment) and suitably equipped to meet the project requirements.
  15. Appointing suitable ship’s agents, managing port call expenses and ensuring advance payment for provisional expenses are made in due time and ensuring accurate and timely close out of final port call expenses
  16. Ensuring and validating the maintenance report and associated charts
  17. Tracking of operation costs and participating in the project re-billing process
  18. Supporting the import process of the ship, ensuring that crew members have valid visas and authorizations to work in the sovereign areas of the countries crossed
  19. Managing the follow-up of investigations related to the operational incidents that occurred during the project
  20. Ensuring that valid insurance policies are in place for the vessel and that notifications to insurers are in accordance with the terms of these policies

Qualifications:

  1. Degree level or equivalent
  2. Experience in a project management customer-facing role
  3. Experience in vessel operation management
  4. Experience working offshore
  5. High level of commercial awareness
  6. Good knowledge and understanding of the marine industry as well as specific appreciation of marine maintenance services
