Job summary

Historic England in Swindon is seeking a Marine Historic Environment Record Officer on a maternity cover basis. The role is full-time with hybrid working and will maintain the Marine HER while providing specialist customer service to researchers, partners and the public.

You will analyse data from the Marine HER and related datasets, support policy development, and help ensure access to reliable information across HE and external users.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Marine Historic Environment Record (Marine HER) and provide information to support research and policy development.
• Ensure that Historic England, partners and the public have access to accurate and reliable information about the marine historic environment.
• Assist the Marine HER Manager in data analysis and interpretation of Marine HER and related datasets.
• Provide specialist customer service for internal and external users of the Marine HER.
