Description:
The Marine & Helicopter Coordination role is a key support function within the Offshore Operations & Logistics department of Construction. It enables safe offshore operations, transit, access to the OWF, assets within the OWF, and emergency response during OWF construction.
The role involves day and night shifts, including weekends, with scope for additional ad-hoc shifts during the main contract period and surrounding periods.
Key Tasks:
- Emergency response coordination; acting as the front-line person responsible for response coordination and liaising with project staff and external agencies.
- Vessel/helicopter traffic control following agreed protocols, procedures, and processes.
- People, vessel, and communications tracking.
- Manage WTG access restrictions.
- Ensure vessel allocations and schedule changes optimize vessel use.
- Operate offshore management systems, ensuring personnel certifications and asset statuses are up-to-date.
- Liaise with local stakeholders as required.
- Provide weather forecasts and observation data, interpreting them to advise Project and Vessel Masters.
- Manage relationships with weather data providers, resolving issues as needed.

Requirements:
- Local applicants preferred, within approximately 2 hours of Grimsby.
- Over 2 years of experience in Marine Coordination.
- Competent in using Supplier Database for Offshore Operations.
- Proficient in Radio Communications.
- Computer literate.
- Familiar with Maritime Certification.
- Team player, proactive, able to work under pressure, and well-engaged with the organization.
- Experience in offshore Emergency Response.
- Personnel tracking to monitor offshore personnel whereabouts.
- Marine Traffic Control, managing access according to custody, timing, and scope.
- Airspace coordination for safe flight operations to, from, and within the OWF.
- Monitoring weather and marine operations on the OWF.
- Emergency response planning and management.
- Surveillance and vessel avoidance.
- Liaison and advisory roles with documentation, HSE, Marine Inspection, and Helicopter Operators.
- Statutory reporting for pollution, lighting, drifting buoys, and vessel infringement.
Work hours are 12 hours per day, with a 1 week on/1 week off rotation. Flexibility is required for vacation and sickness cover, with rotations potentially extended up to 14-21 days. Shift patterns will be confirmed at interview and may be extended based on workload.
