Marine & Helicopter Coordinator

Duration: 30th June – 31st March 26

Rotation: 1 week on, 1 week off

Description:

Marine & Helicopter Coordination is a key support function within the Offshore Operations & Logistics department of Construction, enabling safe offshore operations, transit, access to the OWF, assets within the OWF, and emergency response during OWF construction.

The role includes day and night shifts, weekend work, and scope for additional ad-hoc shifts during the main contract period, as well as prior to and following this period.

Key Tasks:

1. Emergency response coordination; acting as the front-line person responsible for coordinating responses and liaising with project staff and external agencies.
2. Vessel and helicopter traffic control according to agreed protocols, procedures, and processes.
3. People, vessel, and communications tracking.
4. Manage WTG access restrictions.
5. Optimize vessel allocations and adapt to unforeseen changes to the daily plan/schedule.
6. Operate the offshore management system to ensure all offshore personnel are correctly certified and assets are maintained to the latest status.
7. Liaise with local stakeholders as needed.
8. Provide weather forecasting and observation data, interpreting it to advise project and vessel masters.
9. Manage relationships with weather data providers, resolving issues with data sources.
10. Liaise with local stakeholders as required.

Requirements:

Local applicants preferred, within approximately 2 hours of Grimsby. Must have over 2 years of experience in Marine Coordination.

• Competent in using the Supplier Database for Offshore Operations.
• Proficient with Radio Communications.
• Computer literate.
• Familiar with Maritime Certification.
• Team player, proactive, able to work under pressure, and well-engaged with the organization.
• Experienced in offshore Emergency Response.
• Personnel Tracking – maintaining awareness of offshore personnel locations.
• Marine Traffic Control – managing access according to custody, timing, and work scope.
• Airspace Coordination – ensuring safe flight operations to and from the OWF.
• Monitoring weather and marine operations on the OWF.
• Emergency Response and planning.
• Vessel avoidance and surveillance.
• Liaison & advisory roles with documentation, HSE, marine inspection, and helicopter operators.
• Statutory reporting including pollution, lighting, drifting buoys, and vessel infringement.
• 12-hour shifts, 1 week on/1 week off, with flexibility for extended rotations up to 14-21 days.
• Shift pattern and schedule to be confirmed at interview; potential extension based on workload.
