Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a GRP Composites Finisher in Berinsfield for a leading marine manufacturer. You will join a skilled finishing team to ensure moulded components meet exacting quality standards.

The role covers GRP finishing, gel coat repairs, paint finishing and detailing, with a Monday–Friday 37.5-hour week and a salary of £30,000–£35,000 per annum. Applicants should have strong attention to detail and good teamwork in a production environment.

Qualifications

• GRP finishing, composite finishing, paint finishing or detailing experience.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical work approach.
• Ability to achieve high-quality finishes consistently.
• Good organisational skills and ability to meet production deadlines.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work independently when required.
• Commitment to health, safety and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Inspect GRP mouldings and identify defects for rework.
• Carry out gel coat repairs to remove imperfections and mould joint lines.
• Prepare and fair surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Polish gel coat surfaces to an exceptional standard.
• Trim GRP components using air saws, routers and diamond cutting discs.
• Sand and finish cut edges using abrasives and specialist tools.
• Maintain high workmanship and quality standards at all times.
• Support other areas of the manufacturing process when required.
• Assist with the training and development of new production operatives.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Ensure correct use of PPE and compliance with HSE procedures.
• Take ownership and accountability for your work output.
