Location: Based in our Floating Pool. The role requires flexible work across UK ports, with a 1 or 2-week on/off rotation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all machinery is in top condition and operate during vessel operations.
  • Maintain safe operation of vessels, engines, generators, and machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance and keep machinery up to standards.
  • Keep machinery spaces clean and hazard-free.
  • Report faults and coordinate repairs.
  • Execute Planned Maintenance System tasks.
  • Manage supplies like lube oils and bunkers.
  • Conduct safety checks and address issues promptly.
  • Follow all regulatory guidelines and keep documentation up to date.
  • Supervise and train engineering staff.
  • Assist in dry-docking and survey planning.
  • Advise on defects and prioritize repairs.
  • Collaborate with deck and engine departments.
  • Engage in training and professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum STCW III/1 Engineer Officer of the Watch (EOOW) Small Vessel <9000 kW/<3000 GT.
  • All STCW basic training valid.
  • ENG1 Medical with at least 6 months remaining.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Career-oriented with a goal to become Chief Engineer.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Expertise in fault diagnosis and machinery repair.
  • Experience in harbour or terminal towage preferred.
  • Deck experience is advantageous.
  • Good administrative and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
