Job description

Make Your Mark as a Marine Electronics Engineer at Gardline!

We are looking for an experienced workshop and field service engineer that can work as part of our busy Positioning Team. You will be a great team player but also able to work independently when required. You will be flexible in your approach and willing to help out when needed to ensure our fleet of vessels can operate effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for offshore personnel with relevant skills to try a demanding shore-based role, for shore-based personnel looking for the next step and an opportunity to try it in for size, or for an external candidate looking for the next step in their career or an opportunity to join this busy and exciting sector during the global energy transition.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Provide service support for Company Operated Vessel.
  2. Follow maintenance schedules and field-based fault finding and board level diagnosis.
  3. Liaison with internal and external suppliers and contractors.
  4. Installation of equipment on vessels, and integration with other systems.
  5. Preparation, testing and packing of equipment prior to dispatch to vessels.
  6. Provide remote support to vessels with technical issues, potentially out-of-hours and at weekends.
  7. Testing and repair of equipment.
  8. Control of asset movement and preparation of shipping documents.
Your Qualities

You can make your mark as a Marine Electronics Engineer if you have:

  1. HNC or equivalent qualification/experience relevant to electronics or electrical engineering.
  2. Knowledge of installing Marine Electronics equipment such as VHF, HF, AIS, Radar, telemetry, computer systems, GPS etc.
  3. High degree of computer/IT literacy.
  4. Previous experience of working within the oil and gas industry.

  2. Fulltime job: The position of Marine Electronics Engineer is fulltime (37.5 hours a week).
