Chaucer Underwriting Services Limited in London is seeking a Marine Delegated Portfolio Underwriter to lead delegated authority within the marine underwriting team and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external coverholders. Qualifications

• ACII qualification or progress toward completion.
• Delegated underwriting experience in Lloyd’s London Market.
• Proven ability to negotiate with brokers and liaise with clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage full suite of delegated portfolio processes: setup, weekly management, renewal.
• Oversee risk governance, data analysis, regulatory oversight, and client relationships.
• Endorsements / amendments / lines under binding authorities; chair special projects as needed.
• Ensure accurate underwriting records and premium data across Chaucer systems.
• Support portfolio segmentation monitoring to enable optimal strategy across accounts.

Job Profile Summary

The Marine Delegated Portfolio Underwriter will work within the marine underwriting team, specifically implementing and managing their successful delegated authority business in this specialist class as well as supporting daily internal stakeholder and external coverholder relationships. This is a dynamic market leading international team that wants to continue to innovate marine portfolio development and new commercial outcomes.

Job Description

Managing the full suite of delegated portfolio processes including initial setup, weekly management and renewal. This will include risk governance, assessment, data and portfolio analytics, compliance and regulatory oversight and relationship oversight. Agreement of endorsements / amendments / promised lines in accordance with underwriting authority. Agreement of special acceptances and referrals to binding authorities, line-slips and treaties. Build on existing and develop new long term client relationships including where appropriate foreign travel. Build strong market peer group reputation. Participating on and where appropriate chairing special projects as and when required in order to meet Chaucer’s long term objectives. To interpret, prepare and analyse underwriting data to provide comprehensive modelling information to support the underwriting process. Ensure underwriting records are properly recorded and updated, including client files. Contribute to the successful implementation of business segmentation monitoring / management to allow the team to pursue optimal portfolio strategy. Responsibility for the accuracy and upkeep of all written premium data on Chaucer systems for all risks written within the area of responsibility. Liaise with other business areas within Chaucer as required to ensure effective management of the account including the delegated underwriting team, credit control, compliance, claims, exposure management, internal risk review and actuarial functions.

Regulatory Responsibilities

Comply with all policies and procedures and ensure that due regard is paid to providing good customer outcomes and the fair treatment of customers. Manage the relationships with Customers, Agents and Service Providers.

• Delegated Underwriting experience specific to the Lloyd’s London Market
• Experience of negotiating with brokers and liaising with clients.
• Understanding of business planning process.

Education

ACII Qualification (or equivalent), or making good progress towards completion
