SP Renewables are looking for a Marine Coordinator to join their EA3 project based in Lowestoft. This will be on a 2-week rotational basis, back-to-back with another Marine Coordinator.
Business: SP Renewables - East Anglia Three
Location: Lowestoft onshore site
Duration: 12-month initial contract with renewal in line with the project
Shifts: 2-week rotational shifts (2 on 2 off), 12-hour night shifts
Rate: IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available
Applicants must have marine and helicopter coordination experience, preferably within offshore wind. They should be able to ensure they are within a commutable distance to Lowestoft or be willing to relocate.
Main Purpose of Job
- The Duty Marine Coordinator will report to the Lead Marine Coordinator.
- Coordinate all project vessels and ensure personnel are tracked from port departure until safe return.
- Ensure personnel meet offshore training requirements and certifications are uploaded to OSEM.
- Utilize Marine Coordination software to track offshore transfers and vessel movements.
- Act as the first point of contact for offshore emergencies.
- Optimize vessel usage to minimize downtime and keep accurate records.
- Maintain Q&HSE policies during offshore works.
- Ensure compliance with EA Three ATWS.
- Support onshore and offshore logistic planning and implementation.
- Protect SPR interests onshore and offshore.
- Be aware of contractors on site and communicate with relevant team leaders.
Key Tasks
- Plan and supervise personnel and equipment transfers via vessels and helicopters safely and efficiently.
- Monitor work control systems and permits for planned works.
- Assist in planning work schedules for optimal use of personnel and transfer vessels/helicopters.
- Support Lead MC with notices to mariners and weekly operational notices.
- Monitor weather conditions to ensure safety and optimize offshore work time.
- Ensure all offshore personnel complete training and inductions in the marine coordination system.
- Initiate Emergency Response Plans when required.
- Utilize vessels efficiently to minimize non-productive time.
- Coordinate marine traffic during offshore operations, including transit to and from port.
Key Criteria
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Marine Coordinator.
- Experience in offshore wind industry preferred.
- Excellent communication skills across organizational levels.
- Strong H&S knowledge, ideally in offshore environments.
- Experience in offshore marine or helicopter coordination, with knowledge of safety rules.
- Certified VHF operator.
- Knowledge of marine, aviation, and port regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Respectful, proactive, and diligent.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented with adaptability to change.
