Gallagher's Marine team in the UK is seeking a Marine Claims Executive to manage cargo and marine claims from notification through settlement. You will advocate for clients, explain coverage and processes, and coordinate with insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors and legal representatives.

You'll join a close-knit team across Gallagher's marine practice, develop your technical knowledge, build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, and support service delivery across a global reach

Overview

Join Gallagher's Marine team and play a key role in supporting clients through the claims process, from first notification through to final settlement. Working within our specialist Cargo Claims team, you'll advocate for a diverse range of clients across the UK and globally, helping them navigate complex marine and cargo claims while delivering outstanding service.

How you'll make an impact

As a Marine Claims Executive, you'll manage cargo and marine claims from initial notification through to settlement. You'll act as an advocate for clients, helping them understand policy coverage, claims processes and potential outcomes while working closely with insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors, and other stakeholders. Every claim is different, so you'll balance technical understanding with clear communication, helping clients make informed decisions and supporting them through challenging situations.

You'll become an active member of a close-knit claims team, contributing to discussions, sharing insight, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients. Along the way, you'll develop your technical knowledge of marine and cargo claims while building relationships across Gallagher's wider Marine practice.

About You

Here's what you'll bring to the role:

• Experience handling insurance claims within a broker, insurer, or related environment
• Understanding of marine insurance and the fundamentals of cargo risks and cargo claims
• Ability to explain technical information clearly to clients and colleagues
• Experience managing multiple claims and priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Confidence communicating with a variety of stakeholders by phone, email and in meetings
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
• Experience presenting information, updates or recommendations to clients or colleagues is beneficial
• Interest in developing your technical knowledge within marine and cargo claims
