Job Summary
This role offers an opportunity to join successful, established teams working alongside some of the best engineers in the industry. It involves working on a diverse portfolio of marine, coastal, and inland waterway projects across the UK.
Job responsibilities include:
- Designing marine structures such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins, slipways, berthing, and mooring facilities
- Providing technical and professional guidance to junior engineers
- Collaborating within a team environment
- Communicating technical matters with clients and internal teams
- Writing technical reports
- Being chartered or near-chartered with a strong desire for professional development
- Having demonstrable experience or ability in marine structure design
- Using FE modelling software like STAAD Pro, LUSAS, SAP 2000, or similar
- Knowledge of buildability and buildable design principles
- Understanding maritime standards such as BS6349 and PIANC
- Designing lock gates, heavy-duty pavements, breakwaters, and linkspans
- Engaging in coastal engineering design and assessment
- Experience with temporary works design
- Utilizing engineering software like Optimoor, Wallap, or Plaxis
Qualifications:
- MEng in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 2:1
