Job Summary

This role offers an opportunity to join successful, established teams working alongside some of the best engineers in the industry. It involves working on a diverse portfolio of marine, coastal, and inland waterway projects across the UK.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Designing marine structures such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins, slipways, berthing, and mooring facilities
  • Providing technical and professional guidance to junior engineers
  • Collaborating within a team environment
  • Communicating technical matters with clients and internal teams
  • Writing technical reports
  • Being chartered or near-chartered with a strong desire for professional development
  • Having demonstrable experience or ability in marine structure design
  • Using FE modelling software like STAAD Pro, LUSAS, SAP 2000, or similar
  • Knowledge of buildability and buildable design principles
  • Understanding maritime standards such as BS6349 and PIANC
  • Designing lock gates, heavy-duty pavements, breakwaters, and linkspans
  • Engaging in coastal engineering design and assessment
  • Experience with temporary works design
  • Utilizing engineering software like Optimoor, Wallap, or Plaxis

Qualifications:

  • MEng in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 2:1
