Overview
We’re an international insurance and risk management firm, seeking an experienced Marine Cargo Technical Account Handler for our Cargo Team. The role involves understanding technical aspects of Cargo insurance, managing client, broker, and underwriter needs for diverse USA, international, and wholesale accounts. As part of our technical broking unit, you’ll collaborate with producers and brokers to meet client goals.
How you'll make an impact
- Engage directly with clients (Direct, Wholesale, Facultative Reinsurance) regarding their (Re)insurance requirements, working with the producer/broker to present effectively to the market.
- Attend client strategy/renewal and service meetings as needed.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with market requirements, AJG policies, and procedures.
- Manage client queries and liaise with insurers.
- Coordinate with the team for RFP/Tender submissions.
- Manage workload to service client relationships and meet placement deadlines.
- Support financial and processing functions, including accounts, credit control, and financial discipline.
- Assist leadership and colleagues in operational planning and revenue growth.
- Identify internal business improvement opportunities for efficiency.
About You
- Excellent customer service skills, with a client-centric approach.
- Experience in London and/or overseas insurance markets, particularly in Cargo, Cargo Stock-throughput, and Freight Logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific systems like PPL, Crystal, broking platforms.
- Strong analytical, numeracy, and attention to detail skills.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with initiative and decision-making skills.
- Skilled at building relationships across all levels.
- Capable of solving complex problems under pressure and managing workload effectively.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
