Job Description:

Company Description:

At International Marine Survey Ltd, we pride ourselves on delivering precision cargo and vessel inspection services to the marine sector. The company's comprehensive range of expert marine consultancy and cargo inspection services is complemented by its commitment to excellent customer support and feedback.

Catering to the needs of agents, ship owners, cargo receivers, and cargo shippers both in the UK and abroad, our team strives to provide professional and reliable services. Operating round the clock, our industry demands adaptability, occasionally subjecting us to unconventional hours, unpredictable weather, and a variety of personalities. However, the right individual will quickly discover the immensely satisfying and professionally diverse nature of the marine survey sector.

We are in search of candidates who enjoy tackling challenges and are keen to demonstrate their adaptability. Our workplace fosters a culture of growth and development, offering an environment for individuals to maximise their potential and contribute significantly to an ever-evolving industry and business.

If you're enthused by the unique opportunities presented by our line of work, we look forward to hearing from you!

Role Description:

This is a dynamic and busy role that requires an understanding of vessels and cargo across several trades and an individual who is task-focused, can work to deadlines, and who can operate as part of a skilled, ambitious, and high-performing team.

The work will consist of attendance at a range of survey and consulting assignments on behalf of our clients, comprising commodity owners, ship owners and managers, insurers, P&I Clubs, financiers and other stakeholders who require excellent representation and assurance to manage their risks.

In addition to the inspection responsibilities, the Marine Cargo Surveyor will be responsible for crafting accurate daily on-site reports, providing valuable assistance in resolving any disputes related to the operations to protect the customers' interests, as well as compiling full and detailed reports of survey findings.

A high degree of integrity is required, as is the willingness to accept short notice domestic travel with occasional overseas assignments. We operate every day of the year, and our team members work together to ensure coverage of client requirements.

Supported by a back-office team, you will report to the management and work within our team of surveyors as we grow the business.

Full UK working entitlement, a clean driving licence, and either a valid ENG1 or similar assurances of medical fitness are required.

This role could be an excellent starting point for a newly qualified deck officer looking to transition into a shore-based career, as it offers an immersive experience in the marine survey sector with potential for professional development and growth. Other prior experience in surveying, marine cargo, port logistics and related industries will be favoured.

If you possess the drive to excel and are eager to make a significant impact in the marine survey sector, we welcome your application.
