A leading engineering firm in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a Marine Advisor to oversee offshore vessel operations. The ideal candidate will have a Master STCW II/2 license and 10-15 years of experience in a senior officer role. Responsibilities include writing documentation, creating specifications, and conducting risk assessments. Up to 40% travel is expected. This role offers a competitive hourly rate based on experience and is OUTSIDE IR35.

I am recruiting a Marine Advisor as Senior officer experienced with command of offshore vessel types. Based in Kingston. Up to 40% travel expected. Hourly rate based on experience and suitability. OUTSIDE IR35.

As Marine Advisor, you will be part of the Offshore Wind Business Line within the Installation Method department. You will interface with various projects and departments like engineering, procurement, HSE, Quality, and planning in the provision of maritime advice.

Responsibilities
  • Writing scopes of work and documentation for vessels used in marine operations on projects.
  • Creating specifications needed for vessels used in operations.
  • Reviewing technical bid evaluations and proposals.
  • Establishing procedures and method statements.
  • Being involved in marine assurance.
  • Contributing to offshore engineering methods and project execution strategies related to marine and vessel operations.
  • Conducting HAZIDS, HAZOPS, and other formal risk assessments.
What are we looking for?
  • Master STCW II/2 (Unrestricted).
  • CoC with command experience preferred, or a lower CoC with an appropriate degree.
  • Experience: 10-15 years as a Senior officer on offshore vessel types with a background in operations and vessel management.
  • Technical skills: Ability to command an offshore vessel.
  • IT skills: Proficiency in Office package.
  • Flexibility to travel on-site up to 40% of the time.
