Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance. Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards. Cold Room/Freezers at -22°F/-6°C. Laboratory setting. Some PPE (personal protective equipment) required, including safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs. Will work with hazardous/toxic materials, and may encounter strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products).

Work Schedule

Standard (Monday-Friday).

Position Summary

This role is based at our Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham, UK. As a Manufacturing Technician II within Operations, you will be part of a dedicated team ensuring the performance of world-leading diagnostic products, contributing to global progress and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage your workload independently against a published plan.
  • Manage inventory to ensure availability of materials.
  • Own and perform scheduled activities for designated equipment or areas.
  • Conduct data and process checks.
Keys to Success
  • Take responsibility for your work to ensure quality ('right first time').
  • Use your knowledge to troubleshoot and suggest improvements.
  • Set and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with at least 1 year relevant experience or a relevant degree.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment is essential.
  • Experience in workload management and planning is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven documentation, communication, and digital literacy skills.
  • Ability to follow SOPs.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and basic mathematical skills.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Use of PPE and understanding of chemical hygiene.
  • Ability to handle solutions and chemicals.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 20 kg.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
