Job Title: Manufacturing Technician x 2

Location: Hull

Salary: GBP35,000-GBP40,400 + Overtime + 26 days holiday plus stats + Excellent Pension + Healthcare + Perkbox

Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join a growing FMCG production facility in Hull. Working on a high-speed vacuum-packed production line, you will play a key role in operating and maintaining automated machinery while supporting the delivery of quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong technical and machinery experience who enjoys working as part of a collaborative production team in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves working Monday to Friday on an alternating earlies and afternoons shift pattern within a 38-hour workweek. Shifts are as follows: Monday to Thursday, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm; Friday, 6am to 12 noon and 12pm to 6pm.

Key Responsibilities
Primary (75%)
  • Operate, maintain, and set up PLC-controlled vertical vacuum packing machinery.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day operation of the product packing area.
  • Complete all process documentation to ensure traceability.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and working area.
  • Troubleshoot machine faults and optimize packing line performance.
  • Analyse and present OEE data to monitor and improve operational efficiency.
Secondary (25%)
  • Provide cover for Packing Operators during breaks and absences.
  • Support the Engineering Team with maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Manage product and packaging changeovers effectively.
  • Uphold excellent housekeeping and hygiene standards across the packing area.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience of running, setting, and operating complex machinery within an FMCG or Process Setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, ideally with an Engineering background.
  • Experience of machine setup.
  • Experience working to ISO/BRC or GMP standards.
  • Previous roles with titles such as Line Technician, Production Technician, Senior Operator, Asset Care Technician, Man Tech, Packaging Technician, or Machine Technician are relevant.
