GI Group Main Account in Southampton is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for an Aerospace & Defence role. You will be hands-on, building and testing high-precision components used in advanced systems, operating in a structured manufacturing environment.

Your duties include precision/micro-assembly with hand tools and microscopes, testing and inspection of electro-optic parts, following instructions and quality standards, and helping with production paperwork.

Formación

• Previous manufacturing or assembly experience.
• Strong attention to detail and a "right first time" mindset.
• Good manual dexterity / fine motor skills (comfortable with small parts).
• Able to follow technical instructions and procedures accurately.

Responsabilidades

• Working with small, delicate, high-tolerance components.

The Role (what you'll be doing)

Depending on your experience, you'll support a mix of precision production and testing activities, including:

• Following detailed work instructions, drawings and quality standards
• Completing production paperwork accurately and flagging issues early
• Keeping your work area clean, safe and compliant (including controlled environments where required)

What we're looking for (essential)

• Previous manufacturing or assembly experience

• Background in Aerospace, Defence, Electronics, Optics or Semiconductor manufacturing

• Some roles based in controlled‑temperature areas and/or cleanrooms
• Repetitive fine-motor tasks; extended periods sitting or standing
