Founded as a spin out from Cambridge University in 2017 with the aim of transferring the technology from the academic lab into a commercial entity. Since then, we have grown from one site in Somersham, Cambridgeshire and three employees to a team of over 100 amazing people and an additional production facility in Huntingdon as well as sales teams globally promoting Paragraf.

The role

Working within the Operations group, a Technician plays a key role in the manufacture of our graphene-based products, whether that's being involved in our Front End of Line (FEOL), Back End of Line (BEOL), Photolithography or Epitaxy teams.

Operating high tech semiconductor processing and/or test equipment, our technicians ensure that we continue to produce high quality products for our growing customer base.

This is an opportunity to get actively involved with electronic devices that deliver superior performance, robustness, and energy efficiencies to help solve issues in many different applications including automotive and healthcare.

We're looking to grow all our manufacturing/ production teams and actively on the lookout for enthusiastic and talented individuals with a background in any of the above manufacturing functions who are wanting a new challenge in a high tech industry, while making a difference in the electronics/ semiconductor space.

Tasks

  • The handling of semiconductor wafers.
  • The inspection and imaging of semiconductor wafers and devices.
  • Collect and record data to validate our products against test specifications.
  • Operate mechanical and electrical test systems.
  • Monitor all processes to help prevent or identify equipment malfunction.
  • Maintain & support the optimisation of equipment processes through evidential led means.
  • Working with senior colleagues across departments, assist in trouble shooting problems and to help develop process improvements.
  • Succinctly report and record results using our bespoke software.

Education and Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or equivalent

Experience

  • Proven experience of hands-on approach to tasks & problem solving
  • Background and experience in high tech manufacturing
  • Experience of working in a R&D/lab/production facility

Skills and knowledge

  • Diligent and methodical approach to work with a focus on completing tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and workloads across projects.

Communication

  • Ability to communicate at all levels with both internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to present information clearly and appropriately for the audience.

  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by complying with company policies and processes and all relevant regulations including the use of PPE, as appropriate to the level and scope of the role.
