Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Senior Bird Bellows was established in 1975 as a family run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. Since then, we have evolved to become one of the industry leaders in the design, development and manufacture of pressure duct systems, flexible joints and insulation for highly regulated industries. We have established customers in aerospace (both civil and military), as well as in the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Job Description

We are seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our manufacturing team, where you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring both semi-automated and fully automated machinery within a dedicated production cell. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving equipment faults, logging all stoppages and breakdowns using our smart factory system, and supporting scheduled maintenance activities in collaboration with the maintenance team. You will play a critical role in controlling high-volume production processes, addressing and resolving manufacturing and quality issues, and ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards. Successful candidates will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold strict safety protocols, escalating any concerns as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential Experience & Knowledge:

  • 5 years’ experience of working within a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience in the operation of manufacturing plant and equipment.
  • Experience in diagnosing faults, identifying root causes and implementing preventative and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement.
  • Knowledge of practical Health & Safety

Essential Qualification:

Minimum Level 3 apprenticeship in engineering/engineering qualification
