Overview

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Salary: £37,935 per annum + 25% shift allowance (to £47,418) + overtime

Location: Radway Green

We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world's leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Manufacturing Technician. The role is based at Radway Green just outside Crewe and requires the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern. The manufacturing team operates on a 3 shift rotating system, 37 hours per week.

The company works at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries.

Shifts
  • 3 shift rotating system (37 hours per week)
  • Monday-Thursday: 8 hours per shift
  • Friday: 5 hours per shift
  • Overtime available at 25% (weekday) and 60% (weekend)
Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring processes are maintained and operated safely; escalate safety issues within the production area
  • Ensuring work adheres to relevant quality standards and supporting quality improvement projects
  • Operate manufacturing processes and facilities to meet production programme requirements
  • Support implementation of continuous improvement activities
  • Identify, raise and implement solutions to safety, quality and production problems

About You

Essential:

  • A time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment (minimum NVQ Level 3)
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment while conducting planned maintenance work
  • Experience in setting and operating manufacturing plant and equipment
  • Experience in fault finding with root cause, corrective and preventative activities

Desirable:

  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experience with pneumatic and automated systems

You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and therefore must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
