Job summary

PE Global is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a leading engineering and manufacturer based in Barrow in Furness on a 6‑month initial contract. The role covers electronic, mechanical or systems work and requires carrying out tests, measurements, operations and process controls onsite.

You will read blueprints, identify components, perform wire preparation and crimping, maintain production tools and equipment, and troubleshoot to diagnose and repair defects across production lines.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a technician in Manufacturing.
• Able to read blueprints and identify components.
• Experience with production workflows and production testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties on functional work group projects.
• Employ test techniques and procedures for key cell projects.
• Read blueprints, identify components, perform wire preparation, stripping and crimping, harness repair and termination.

Job description

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing technician for a leading engineering and manufacturer based in Barrow in Furness. This is a 6 month initial contract.

The manufacturing technician is responsible for performing technical duties in one of the functional areas: electronic, mechanical or systems. The Mechanical Technician complete tests, measurements, operations and process controls onsite.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties on functional work group projects.
• Employ test techniques and procedures for key cell projects.
• Use job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travelers and bills of material.
• Maintain production tools and equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose product, process or program defects and repair them.
• Ensure ability to: read blueprints; identify components; perform wire preparation, stripping and crimping; perform harness repair and termination; use pertinent manual hand tools.
• Maintain skills in electronics, hydraulics and mechanical assemblies, automated machine operation and programming.

Education/Experience

• Prior experience as a technician in Manufacturing
