Job summary

Owen Mumford is seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader to oversee a team of Setters, Operators and Material Handlers on a maternity cover contract.

The role focuses on shift performance, task planning, resource allocation and maintaining associate records, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality in a medical device environment.

You'll drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with GMP/ISO 13485, while supporting the team through coaching and 1:1s.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or medical device setting.
• Experience with moulding processes and machinery.
• Knowledge of GMP/ISO 13485 is beneficial.
• Strong organisational and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily production targets and manage shift performance.
• Ensure accurate handovers and maintain daily performance reports.
• Coach and develop team members through 1:1s.
• Monitor safety procedures, quality standards, GMP/ISO 13485.
• Lead continuous improvement to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage attendance and timekeeping per policy.

Job description

Owen Mumford is looking to hire a enthusiastic Manufacturing Team Leader. Could this be your next role?

As the Manufacturing Team Leader you will be responsible for leading a team of Setters, Operators and Material Handlers. This will include ownership of shift performance, the daily organisation of tasks, the planning of team resource, management of workflow and maintaining associate records including absence and holidays.

Please be aware this role is for maternity cover and is offered full time on a 9-12 month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily production targets in line with the agreed schedule and escape risks to output.
• Ensure accurate shift handovers and maintain daily reports for performance and quality issues.
• Support and develop team members through coaching, on-the-job training, and regular 1:1s.
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and GMP/ISO 13485 requirements.
• Lead and sustain continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency or reduce waste.
• Manage attendance and timekeeping, ensuring team adherence to company policy and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience within a supervisory role
• Experience working within moulding
• Experience with operating machinery
• Previous experience working within a medical company or regulated industry is beneficial
• A recognised qualification in any industrial sector
• Strong leadership skills
• Organisation of associates within the team
• Completion of documents as required of a team Leader
