Manufacturing Team Lead — Early/Backshift, Fast-Paced

Job summary

Allstaff Manufacturing Division is recruiting a Manufacturing Team Leader based in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. The role covers early and backshift rotation, with the early shift from 6am to 2pm and backshift from 2pm to midnight.

Responsibilities include supervising a team to meet KPI targets for Health & Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Cleanliness, Delivery, Cost and People, maintaining a safe environment, and handing over between shifts. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing background essential.
• Comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment.
• Ideally 12 months’ experience.

Responsibilities

• On a shift basis supervise employees to ensure they undertake their role efficiently and effectively achieving the KPI’s set for Health & Safety Quality Hygiene & Cleanliness Delivery Cost People
• Provide a safe working environment, adhering to health, safety and environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times
• Carry out a daily handover to the oncoming supervisor or if late shift ensure accurate handover notes are left for the early shift supervisor
• Supervise staff to ensure tidiness within the manufacturing area & chemical aisles, carrying out a final check prior to the end of the shift
• Report all accidents, mistakes, spillages and near misses and encourage all team members to do the same
• Keep the Manufacturing Manager and other relevant managers, supervisors and departments promptly advised on all relevant matters, problems or requirements
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all administrative and reporting procedures and routines and that paperwork is forwarded to the relevant parties
• Undertake and lead small projects within department
• Complete all departmental fork truck checks
• Team leaders are also fully trained in the role of manufacturing operator and will be expected to manufacture when necessary
• Reasonable Overtime is a requirement of the role
