Job summary

Workforce Recruitment and Training are recruiting for a Manufacturing Supervisor in Redditch on behalf of a leading manufacturing business. You will lead a fast-paced production team, ensuring targets, quality standards and health & safety are met while developing staff and driving continuous improvement.

The role offers a base salary of £33,000 plus up to £5,000 performance-related bonus, with occasional night shift cover paid at enhanced rates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing people, including performance management and disciplinary processes.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workloads.
• Experience working to quality standards and achieving production targets.
• Basic mechanical or maintenance knowledge.
• Hands-on approach with flexibility to support operational activities.
• Ability to delegate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in plastics manufacturing or similar production environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Workforce is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in Redditch for an experienced and motivated Manufacturing Supervisor to join their production team.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will lead a team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring production targets, quality standards and health & safety requirements are consistently met.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader who enjoys developing teams, driving productivity and maintaining high operational standards. There is also the potential to earn a performance‑related bonus of up to £5,000 per annum, based on machine performance and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and company policies.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will possess:

• Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing people, including performance management and disciplinary processes.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise workloads.
• Experience working to quality standards and achieving production targets.
• Basic mechanical or maintenance knowledge.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• A hands‑on approach with the flexibility to support operational activities as required.
• Ability to delegate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence or relevant experience.
• Experience within plastics manufacturing or a similar production environment.
• Familiarity with production machinery and machine output targets.

Working Hours

The role operates on a Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern, working alongside another Supervisor:

Occasional night shift cover (22:00 – 06:00) may be required during periods of holiday absence, paid at £16.26 per hour.
