Workshop Supervisor/Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Supervisor/Manager to oversee our clients' workshop operations. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of quality and safety, managing a team of skilled professionals, and ensuring efficient workshop activities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Supervise and manage workshop staff including Machinists, Fabricators, and Field Service Personnel, ensuring high standards of work and safety.
  • Uphold and enforce high HSE and quality standards, implementing quality assurance procedures and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure all machines and tools are maintained, and workshop standards are upheld.
  • Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance activities.
  • Deliver daily briefings and tool box talks to workshop staff.
  • Collaborate with draughtsmen for technical drawings and with the sales team for order delivery.
  • Maintain tooling and electrical tooling, ensuring they are tested and safe for use.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical background with familiarity in workshop tools, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
  • Proven team leadership and staff development skills.
  • Proficiency in basic MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with CRM or workshop management software.
  • Relevant certifications such as SSSTS, CIPD qualifications, and an apprenticeship background are highly valued.
