We have an interesting opportunity for a Manufacturing Services Leader to join our team at Rolls-Royce Rotatives in Derby.

At Rotatives, we look after the manufacturing of Shafts, Compressor Discs, and Drums for our large civil aerospace engines.

In this role, you will manage our Manufacturing Services team responsible for maintenance of our production assets and machinery. You will ensure that all equipment, fixturing, tooling, and services needed to support the manufacturing process are available when required and meet the required standards. You will provide leadership and coaching for maintenance teams within the facility.

What you will be doing:

You will lead a talented team to ensure all machinery, equipment, fixturing, tooling, and services are available when required to the required standard. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and inspiring the team to deliver excellence in Manufacturing Services. Setting the direction by operationalising plans and priorities.
  • Implementing the company’s HS&E (Health, Safety, and Environment) policy, legislative requirements, and standards. Ensuring a safe and compliant workplace environment and equipment for our people.
  • Contributing to the development of the budget. Taking ownership of your budget and applying business acumen to achieve financial objectives.
  • Coaching and performance management of the team to help them reach their full potential.
  • Ensuring quality is central to our operations.
  • Embracing Lean leadership behaviours to enable continuous improvement.
  • Seeking input from other managers and professionals in Manufacturing Services to ensure best practices are shared and adopted.

  • Preferably, completed an advanced engineering apprenticeship and hold an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience leading transformation projects and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean (Green/Black belt is desirable).
  • Experience delivering manufacturing facility-wide projects.
