A Product-focused Manufacturing Project Manager is required within the S&PT (Surveillance and Protection Technology) IPT (Integrated Project Team) to take ownership of products within Operations. The role will cover all aspects of Product and Project Management, including management of manufacturing hardware to stock, support for securing product funding, and input into roadmap governance, contract reviews, Risk Management, Lifecycle Management, and Financial Management.

What you will do as a Manufacturing Project Manager

  • Manage and plan all manufacturing activities required for successful delivery.
  • Identify and manage product dependencies.
  • Manage product risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure product delivery meets schedule, cost, and quality targets.
  • Lead manufacturing input into bid activities for new business.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders/customers.
  • Report internally to the IPT Lead and/or Sector VP.
  • Present product status during Sector and Line of Business performance reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's Lifecycle Management (LCM) processes, tailored to specific needs.
  • Collaborate with Capability Managers to define Product Roadmaps.
  • Coordinate with Functional groups to ensure projects are properly resourced.
  • Be accountable for contract and milestone delivery.

What we need from you:

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, Operations).
  • Experience with complex programmes, preferably in Aerospace/Defence industries.
  • Ability to work with multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, work package management, subcontract management, and cost control.
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Intrinsic Factors:

  • This is an office-based role (3 days a week), involving working with display screen equipment, often in demanding environments.
  • Travel within the UK and potentially abroad, including overnight stays, may be required.
  • The role involves working under tight deadlines in challenging environments.
