Job summary

OLIX in London seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer to translate optical interconnect lab processes into scalable, reliable production lines. You will build high-throughput, high-yield lines and work with R&D and suppliers to ramp production.

This hands-on role requires extensive travel up to 50% and a focus on process control, equipment qualification, and continuous improvement to meet project milestones while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.
• Experience with process development in high-volume, high-technology manufacturing (semiconductors/electronics/display).
• Experience in controlled/cleanroom environments.
• Proven track record of DoEs and structured experiments.
• Experience applying SPC, yield improvement and throughput optimisation.
• Ability to interpret complex data, troubleshoot, and drive improvements.
• Excellent teamwork, documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish high-throughput, high-yield manufacturing lines for optical interconnect technology.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners for qualification and ramp.
• Specify, commission and qualify production equipment.
• Develop new/ improved manufacturing processes and drive throughput/yield.
• Improve process capability through SPC.
• Represent OLIX to management, engineering and production teams at partners.
• Collaborate across R&D, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Characterisation & Test and Production to hit milestones.
• Contribute to strategic IP development and patents.
• Ensure compliance with site and factory protocols and safety regulations.
