Job summary

P&S Personnel Rail is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimise production capability across a major site producing foam and gas suppression systems. The role is hands-on, focused on improving efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing quality in collaboration with production, engineering and supply chain teams on site.

You will work in an office and site-based environment, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (qualification emphasized).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
• Data-driven approach with solid computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and review production plans to meet output, cost and quality objectives.
• Monitor expenditure and forecast resource and production capacity requirements.
• Optimise manufacturing layouts for assembly and materials handling.
• Design and improve manufacturing processes, equipment and machine utilisation.
• Plan and sequence manufacturing operations to improve flow and efficiency.
• Provide guidance into manufacturability in engineering concepts.
• Lead and support Six Sigma / DMAIC continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to boost quality, cost and productivity.
